Growing up was rough. I grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas in a Hispanic gang affiliated neighborhood where my Dad was the leader of the gang. My mom took care of my little sister me and my two big brothers on her own, because by the time i turned 3 my dad went to prison for 15 years. So me and my siblings did what any other kids would do and thats follow their dad’s footsteps. As i went through life thinking gang life was normal while being addicted to drugs and selling drugs, i never had that guidance. So i went out to the neighborhood looking for that love that i couldn’t get at home. As time went by my mom had eventually moved on and remarried. So by the time i was eighteen i was already a right hand man to the gang and i was following orders from my dad through his letters he wrote me from prison. As years go by one day i was at a park at 2am with a gun and drugs. That was the day i cried out to God. I cried on my knees so hard because i was ready for a change. I asked God if he was real, for him to change me and remove anything and everything that was not of him. From that day forward. I continued my ways because change did not happen over night. 16 years later I have finally got out of the gang life. I am now a married man with five sons. My wife and I are in ministry together. This is where God’s Vision Ministry came into action. Now my wife and i and five others built a team. We are reaching the youth that are coming out of jail and those who are in gangs. We are even helping those youths that have felonies under their belts and are targeting teen pregnancy. In the center of it all. God plays the big role. Because without him none of this would be possible. Because if it doesn’t have the Lord in it. I don’t want it!
